Accordion fold books
and variations

This class will have two
components. The first will be to make marks and lines with a variety of tools
and ink on different papers. These gestural lines will move into words.
Qualities of line and texture, space and content will be discussed in relation
to adding text to books.
The second part will be
to use these papers as foundations to explore the display possibilities of the
accordion fold book: hanging book, landscape form, paper folding. The class
will look at how content and words work with the form.
