Scrolls:When I was little I wanted to be a gypsy which may explain my fondness for simple tools, books and scrolls that close or roll up. The scrolls are made on painted translucent fabric that allows a layering of colors and words. I color the polyester with acrylic paint and use dip pens to write with ink and acrylic. The layers of fabric are then mounted as a hanging scroll with a cord to hang from one point and a box for storage. Bio: I was born in New York City, grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York and loved to draw and read as a child. Now I live in Belfast on the coast of Maine with long winters to write and beautiful summers. I walk to the beach to watch the sun rise and the tide come in. My day begins with brushstrokes to music, on to lettering and then to the words.
